So what is there to say about Corporate Wildman? Firstly, the origins of the name needs to be clarified! The WILD and the MAN actually come from Wilderness Management – why? It all centres around these unique and specifically focussed ‘challenges’ where participants of the challenges are taking a deeper level of interest and observations in the bush or in their fishing because doing so is part of the challenges. Of course, this means far more detailed records of animal movement, interactions etc. for the game reserves, fisheries and the wilderness areas that are hosting the challenges. Hence, people taking on the challenges are helping to manage the wilderness they are in and are therefore being a ‘Wildman’ – whether they are male or female! As for the CORPORATE – it’s appropriate in that often companies and groups have really enjoyed doing the challenges because of the slightly competitive edge they can get when one sales team is in a vehicle and they’re trying to find that elusive leopard or wild dog before the other team - or catch that extra large trophy fish that would mean victory!
Corporate Wildman is a business that allows people with a sense of adventure, a love of nature and desire to get ‘out there’ the avenue to enjoy our last remaining wilderness to the fullest. Our events are hugely beneficial to our lodge and venue partners as they are a source of income and exposure for these incredible places. It is through participant’s enjoyment and involvement that we hope to see our wildernesses successfully managed and protected for generations to come.
James Williams the owner and director of Corporate Wildman. Having completed his B.SC in Zoology and Environmental Science at Rhodes, he spent some time in the Sabi Sands as well as Barotseland, Western Zambia. He has fished the waters of Southern Africa extensively, catching Tigers, Bream and Barbel in Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe with both lure and fly. He has also fished the saltwater havens of Mozambique and South Africa. He has travelled extensively and sought after wildlife right across Southern Africa and feels most at home in the wilderness areas.
Corporate Wildman is passionate about the the ‘wildness’ and the purity of a wilderness area. To see something beautiful and untouched by man is a very priviledged experience and we want to share this with as many people as possible. Of course, the wilderness areas cannot continue to exist unless they ‘pay their own way.’ The pressure for land is just too much. That’s why we run our Wildman Challenges and Events – because by challenging each other to catch magnificent fish, or sight bird and wildlife species and unlike the hunters before us, we photograph them to share with others around the world. Give us a shout to see what it’s all about it – and we guarantee, you will love going WILD.
